Last night, I had sat in the “Subtone-no-kai,” a band of saxophonists who love to play subtones.
The three members are Jiro Nagano (ts), Makoto Ueno (ts), and Fuming (p).
Many in the audience are saxophone players as a hobby, and thanks to Jiro’s introduction of the mouthpiece, I received a variety of comments. They all seemed to feel that the mouthpiece had a “deep sound”.
Everyone was very interested in the sound!

After the show, I was talking with Mr. Ueno, and we decided to have a trial session next time. He has a good alto sound, too.

昨夜はサブトーン好きなサックス奏者が並ぶバンド「サブトーンの会」に飛び入りさせていただきました。
メンバーは、長野次郎(ts)上野まこと(ts)Fuming(p)という御三方。
観客には趣味でサックスをやっている方々が多く、次郎さんがマウスピースのことを紹介してくださったおかげで、様々なご感想をいただきました。総じて”深い音がする”と感じてくださったようです。

終演後は上野くんと話してて今度試奏会をしようということになりました。彼はアルトも良い音してるんですよ。
